Bill Boris, a native of Michigan City, Indiana, studied music at Berkley College in
Boston, Massachusettes. Earlier in his career he played with The Tom Milo Band,
and with The Midwest Pops Orchestra under the direction of Newton Waylon.
Over the years, he has played with the following rock and pop music greats: Bo Diddly,
Leslie Gore, Little Anthony and the Imperials, Del Shannon, Lou Christie, Dee Clark,
The Shirelles, Danny and the Juniors, Ray Patterson, The 5th Dimension, Mary Wells,
and such jazz greats as Arthur and Red Prysock, Charles Earland, Doc Severensen,
Bob Mamet, Robert Irving III, Ben E. King, and Ima Sumac.
In 1995, along with playing in the Chicago Area jazz scene, Bill recorded his first CD
titled "Hold Back." It contains all original material with the exception of Eric
Clapton's "Tears in Heaven." A review of the album will be coming soon. In April of 1996 he toured Poland.
The second CD "Transmogrified" (1997) is with Dave Seyboldt (Uncle Art) which features Bill Boris on Guitar, Rafe Bradford on Bass, Peter Ballin on Woodwind, and Dave Seyboldt on Keyboard and Percussion.
A third CD with Uncle Art "Electrified" is in the making featuring Bill Boris,Dave Seyboldt,Rafe Bradford,and Peter Ballin with a tenitive release date of October,1999. Further info comming soon from Dave Seyboldt!
Bill is now playing jazz with Charles Earland, and on the Odyssey Cruise Ship off Navy Pier,Chicago,Il. (on the Emerald Deck). he also plays with the Bob Guthrie Group every Thursday in Harvey,Il.Bob Guthrie just released his "Steppin' Slick" CD.
